Child of Eve Johnson Houghton Zawatri. The two-year-old had a strong campaign, winning a pair of Group 2 races before landing the Group 1 National Stakes at the Curragh. He finished his juvenile campaign with a fourth-place finish in the Dewhurst Stakes. He makes his seasonal reappearance here ahead of a possible tilt in the Irish 2,000 Guineas.
O’Brien finds Albert Einstein Aidan to be an intriguing contender in a race that has eluded master trainers. The son of Wootton Bassett is on a comeback mission after disappointing a seasonal reappearance at the Curragh three weeks ago. O’Brien still maintains he has full confidence in his three-year-old star, who takes to the hood for the first time here.
Coolmore’s second runner in the race is the exciting Title Roll, trained by Simon and Ed Chrisford. This Too Darn Hot colt, who has won at Newmarket, landed in the Jumeirah 2000 Guineas at Meydan when last seen, along with Godolphin’s Talk Of New York.
Others to watch include Invincible (for Ralph Beckett) and Al Purslan (Carl Burke).
Guinea hopeful Tulane faces 14 rivals in the 1.25 Newbury – the Fred Darling Stakes.

2.35 Newbury – Convergent and Pride of Arras feature in John Porter
A perfect field of seven goes to the post in this year’s renewal. John Porter Stakes is over twelve furlongs and Carl Burke’s Convergent looks like a beater here. After making steady progress last year, which included two Group wins, Burke will be hoping his four-year-old can make another winning seasonal reappearance and take this Group 3 contest to a potential tilt in the Coronation Cup.
The main threat may come from Ralph Beckett. Pride of Arras, who disappointed in both the Derby and the Irish Derby last year, bounced back from a gelding operation to win the Great Voltaire Stakes at York in impressive fashion.
William Haig’s Al-Asi favouritism was justified by bringing the competition back in 2021, and he came here to claim a ninth win in a group booked to ride with Tom Marquand.
Collaborated with John and Thedie Gosden and Ryan Moore. Lion’s Pride while William Buick takes a ride. Phantom Flight, which has had a successful start to the year in the Middle East.
Andrew Balding’s Bellum Justum and William Haig’s Persistence make up this field of seven, with the latter finishing second.
