An update has emerged on Lewis Hall’s future at Newcastle amid reports of possible interest from Manchester United.
Manchester United have received a major update on Newcastle star Lewis Hall’s future. The Magpies have also denied there has been any falling out between Hall and manager Eddie Howe.
As reported. The Chronicle has reported that, despite fresh reports in the national press, Hall is not considering handing in a transfer request and that the pair have parted ways amicably for the summer.
The report states that Howe’s relationship with the left-back is “excellent” and that there has been no conflict between them.
Hall missed out on an England call-up from Three Lions manager Thomas Tuchel, with Dej Spence, Tino Leveramento, and Nico O’Reilly all preferred ahead of him.
United could be in the market for a new left-back this summer after Tyrell Malacia is set to leave the club when his contract expires, and the Reds could look to add competition to Luke Shaw in the squad.
Back on May 26, Chronicle Live also reported on Howe’s response during his press conference in the final week of the campaign.
Howe said: “My reaction to that was to feel for Lewis. I wanted to support him, talk to him, and really help him.
“He’s a fantastic player; he’s so young and has such a big part of his career. You don’t want it to have a negative impact.
“I don’t think it will; I think he’s forceful mentally. It was a huge disappointment for him.”
After selecting Spence, Tuchel provided a reason for his decision despite eyeing Hall on two occasions in the spring, with the England boss commenting: “He was excellent in every game he played for us.
“He’s going through the third change of coach at his club; he’s not getting many minutes since then. He’s in that situation, part of the situation at Tottenham.
‘Before March camp we said, “You’re not getting minutes [with Spurs]. ‘ If you come here, you have to prove yourself again. And Dejad and Tino were excellent against Uruguay. It was a decision I could really trust him to make.”
