Woman rescued after man forces her to perform ‘satanic ritual’ and holds her hostage at Olive Garden, police say

A man was arrested outside an Olive Garden in New Hampshire after a woman said he held her hostage, forced her to marry him and performed “satanic rituals” on him, police said.

woman was being held hostage by a man with a gun.

A copy of the arrest affidavit says officers were dispatched to the Olive Garden in Newington, New Hampshire, on Sunday after a report of a woman being held hostage by a man with a gun.

The woman’s mother tracked her cell phone to that location andthen notifiedd Pennsylvania State Police, who contacted police in Newington.

Police approached the woman in the parking lot who was crying and had cigarette burns on her legs, the affidavit says.

Officers then spoke with 47-year-old Daniel Ouellette, who said the woman was his wife and they had gone out to dinner. When asked why the woman was crying, Ouellette said her mother “was attempting to force her to join a religious cult in Pennsylvania, and she was fed up with dealing with it”, the affidavit states.

Meanwhile, the affidavit said the woman got into the car with another officer, causing Ouellette to become concerned about her detention.

Later, the woman told police she was in New Milford, Pennsylvania, when Ouellette approached her and threatened to go to him or he would find her and harm her and her family.

She travelled to New Hampshire last week, where Ouellette began threatening her with a gun and forcing her to go to a town hall to get married, the affidavit says.

She told police that she obliged and that Ouellette kept her cell phone while they were together.

After signing the marriage paperwork, she said she was placed in the trailer against her will, according to the affidavit. He told her that if she left he would harm her family.

She said that on Saturday, after forcing her to drive away at gunpoint, he performed what she called a “satanic ritual” by holding her wrist and cutting her hand with a box cutter.

The affidavit states that officers found a copy of “The Satanic Bible” in Ouellette’s car.

When they arrived at Olive Garden in Newington, he still had her phone. She saw a police cruiser pull up outside the restaurant, causing her to run outside to meet officers and get help, the affidavit says.

The affidavit states that officers filed an emergency restraining order aimed at keeping Ouellette away from her, adding that she told police she would rather not live with him.

Ouellette is now charged with domestic violence, obstructing the report of a crime or injury and possession of a deadly weapon.

During a court appearance on Monday, Ouellette denied the charges and was ordered into preventive custody. WMUR in Manchester, New Hampshire, reported. It was not clear whether he had legal representation.
