UFC Vegas 113 Preview

UFC Vegas 113 happens TONIGHT (Sat., Feb. 7, 2026) inside the newly-renamed META APEX venue in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the first-ever APEX card of the Paramount+ era, and… it’s okay.

Mario Bautista vs. Vinicius Oliveira in the Bantamweight division is the main event tonight. Both of these fighters will be seeking a significant victory to advance to the front of the forming line behind the new 135-pound kingpin, Petr Yan.

Our co-main is Amir Albazi vs. Kyoji Horiguchi and that has title implications, too, perhaps more immediate ones. Horiguchi returned to the Octagon last year and pasted Tagir Ulanbekov (re-live that here). If he takes out the perennially top-ranked Albazi, he might get fast-tracked to a title shot against the new division roost-ruler, Joshua Van.

Rounding out UFC Vegas 113’s main card is Jailton Almeida vs. Rizvan Kuniev. There’s been some wild betting activity on that one. There’s also Michal Oleksiejczuk vs. Marc-Andre Barriault (that should be a banger), Dustin Jacoby vs. Julius Walker and Jean Matsumoto versus the undefeated Farid Basharat.

UFC Vegas 113’s “Prelims” are headlined by Alex Morono vs. Daniil Donchenko. There’s also Wang Cong vs. Edourda Moura. Javid Basharat was supposed to fight Said Nurmagomedov. However, Nurmagomedov is out of the fight and he has been replaced on short notice by Gianni Vazquez (full story here).

UFC Vegas 113 Start Date and Time

UFC Vegas 113 airs on Paramount+ tonight, as usual. However, the start times are a little different tonight compared to the previous shows so far this year.

The “Prelims” begin at 5 p.m. ET and the main card goes live at 8 p.m. ET.

You can check out live results, analysis and play-by-play commentary here all night, starting at 5 p.m. ET. Please jump in the comments and chat with fellow fans as all the fights unfold.

UFC Vegas 113 Play-By-Play Updates

Main Card

Mario Bautista vs. Vinicius Oliveira

Round 1: Oliveira looked game to test Bautista’s wrestling early on, after landing a few leg kicks. He pushed Bautista into the fence but would end up on the bottom in a scramble. Bautista found it hard to get much out of Oliveira’s butterfly guard, though. Oliveira was very active in elevating Bautista, looking for a leg lock, and throwing upkicks (some quite smartly placed). Bautista wins the round, though, despite not doing any damage.

10-9 Bautista

Round 2: Bautista established his wrestling again early in the round. Oliveira fought him off but appeared to get exhausted. Alternatively, he may have been adopting a “drunken master” style. He landed a few lovely shots but was taken down again. Oliveira did some nice work off his back again. But he started to fade and Bautista was able to get a crucifix. Oliveira bucked out of that, but Bautista then chained his grappling together—beautifully—and finished the sequence with a rear- naked choke. Oliveira tapped quickly.

Official decision: Mario Bautista def. Vinicius Oliveira by submission (rear naked choke), round 2 (4:46)

Amir Albazi vs. Kyoji Horiguchi

Round 1: This was a closer round than I was expecting. Horiguchi scored often with his darting in and out offence. But Albazi looked solid and like he had a strength advantage anytime they locked up. Horiguchi took the round, though, for his activity and the strikes he landed.

10-9 Horiguchi

Round 2: Horiguchi came out like he thought he lost the first round. He was much more aggressive in chasing Albazi with combos. The biggest shots started sneaking through, cutting Albazi and having him briefly wobble. That display of power stopped Albazi from going forwards looking for takedowns.

20-18 Horiguchi

Round 3: Horiguchi caught Albazi behind the ear with a looping shot. That made Albazi do a little dance, but he was able to cover up and get a body lock before Horiguchi could follow up with any more damage. Albazi knew he needed a stoppage, but the best he could do was look for takedowns against the fence.

30-27 Horiguchi

Official decision: Kyoji Horiguchi def. The decision was unanimous (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).

Jailton Almeida vs. Rizvan Kuniev

Round 1: Almeida shot in immediately but wasn’t able to complete a takedown. Kuniev managed to stay on his feet the whole round and land a few shots. Almeida didn’t give him enough space to land anything damaging, but Kuniev’s efforts should be rewarded with the 10-9.

10-9 Kuniev

Round 2: Kuniev spent a significant amount of time pressing Almeida against the fence, which elicited chants of “break them up.” Big Dan obliged a few times. Very boring stuff, but Kuniev is the one trying to be aggressive. Almeida seems stalled out.

20-18 Kuniev

Round 3: The boos seemed to have gotten to the fighters in this round. Both showed a little more activity on the feet. But both were worn out enough at this point that neither could offer up much power. Kuniev continued to press his advantage, pushing Almeida into the fence for a very dull shutout on the scorecards (despite Kuniev pointing to the center at the 10-second mark).

30-27 Kuniev

Official decision: Rizvan Kuniev def. Jailton Almeida won by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).

Michael Oleksiejczuk vs. Marc-Andre Barriault

Round 1: The first round was as we expected, only without a finish. Both men were very willing to throw down. Oleksiekczuk seemed the more measured, though. He landed the harder shots while pressing forwards.

10-9 Oleksiejczuk

Round 2: Barriault took this round by replicating what Oleksiejczuk did in the first. He started coming forwards and landing big shots. He actually wobbled the pole a few times, though. We’re all tied up now.

19-19

Round 3: This was the closest round of the fight and it saw Oleksiejczuk come back and lead the exchange. Both men slugged it out for this one, and they both proved too durable to go down.

29-28 Oleksiejczuk

Official decision: Michal Oleksiejczuk def. Marc-Andre Barriault won by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

Farid Basharat vs. Jean Matsumoto

Round 1: These two fought a very competitive round one. Matsumoto was aggressive in chasing down Basharat. But Basharat was able to catch him and cut him on the counter. Both fighters had their moments in striking and wrestling, but Basharat’s damage earned him the round

10-9 Basharat

Round 2: That’s another close round. Basharat found a lot of success on his feet early on, but then Matsumoto was able to surge back and get the best of him with his wrestling and grappling. Basharat looked exhausted going back to his corner.

19-19

Round 3: Another close third round means this is really anyone’s fight. Both fighters were able to land effective shots and get takedowns and spend some time in control. The fight was a great display of bantamweights who could be in the title mix a year from now. I have it for Basharat, but it’s very, very close.

29-28 Basharat

Official decision: Farid Basharat def. Jean Matsumoto was defeated by a split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28).

Dustin Jacoby vs. Julius Walker

Round 1: Jacoby effectively used a sprawl and brawl strategy early in the round, but he later surrendered to a significant takedown, during which Walker carried him on his shoulder. Walker wasn’t able to convert that position into a big slam or a prolonged top position. Walker was able to suck up some time on the fence, though, landing knees to Jacoby’s thigh. That gets him the round.

10-9 Walker

Round 2: Jacoby wobbled Walker with a one-two. He then stepped in and dropped Walker with another powerful straight punch. Walker managed to ensnare Jacoby, preventing him from falling to the ground. But Jacoby was able to hurt him with Travis Browne-style elbows. These strikes put Walker down again and forced him into pure survival mode. Jacoby kept striking and was able to finally elicit the TKO.

Official decision: Dustin Jacoby def. Julius Walker, by TKO (punches), round 2 (1:42).

Prelims

Alex Morono vs. Daniil Donchenko: Donchenko tore through Morono in the first, hurting him with leg kicks and then dropping and bloodying him with combos and vicious ground and pound. Morono survived the round. In the second and third rounds, Donchenko slowed down but was still comfortably winning the fight (and hurting Morono with leg kicks). He wins with a 10-8 round in the first. It’s amazing that Morono lasted that entire fight, though.

Official decision: Daniil Donchenko def. Daniil Donchenko defeated Alex Morono by unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-27)

Niko Price vs. Nikolay Veretennikov: Veretennikov successfully fought inside Price’s range, pushing him against the fence before landing a big right, a huge knee, an elbow, and then punches that knocked Price out cold on his feet.

Official decision: Nikolay Vertennikov def. Niko Price by KO (punches), round 1 (1:42)

Bruna Brasil vs. Ketlen Souza: Brasil won the first round, backing up into space and catching Souza with counters (including some excellent knees). But Souza’s power punching turned the course of the fight. She landed some powerful shots on Brasil in the second round, whose backing up started to read as passivity. Souza’s aggression and big shots continued in the third, giving her the 29-28 win on my scorecard.

Official decision: Ketlen Souza def. Bruna Brasil won by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

Javid Basharat vs. Gianni Vazquez: Basharat did what was expected, in the first round, outwrestling the short-notice newcomer. Vazquez rocked Basharat in the second round, forcing him to dig deep to turn the fight back into a wrestling match. In the third, Basharat was able to settle things down again and ride out the decision (a closer one than he would have expected). Vazquez earned a lot of respect in this bout, though. We’ll be seeing him again.

Official decision: Javid Basharat def. Javid Basharat defeated Gianni Vazquez by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

Wang Cong vs. Eduarda Moura: Cong’s high-powered striking almost finished this fight in round one. But Moura was able to survive until she saw the second. In the second, she got the fight to the ground and threatened submissions for most of the round. In the all-important third round, Cong was able to land some powerful shots and seriously bloody up Moura to earn the 29-28 win on my scorecard.

Official decision: Wang Cong def. Wang Cong defeated Edourda Moura by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).

Muin Gafarov vs. Jakub Wiklacz: Gafarov won the striking battle in the first round and Wiklacz dominated on the ground in the second. Gafurov looked on his way to winning a decision in the third, as Wiklacz seemed to tire. Wiklacz locked on a Hail Mary guillotine, though, which caused a tap right at the final buzzer. A replay was used to determine that Gafurov tapped just before the bell.

Official decision: Jakub Wiklacz def. Muin Gafurov, by submission (guillotine), round 3 (3:59).

Klaudia Sygula vs. Priscila Cachoeria: These two put on a fun fight to start the night. Cachoeira came forwards throwing big shots, but she ended up walking into a wood chipper. Sygula peppered her with combos, splitting her open and slowing her down. Sygula won every round on my card.

Official decision: Klaudia Sygula def. Priscilla Cachoeira was defeated by a unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

Recently released files reveal that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was ‘delighted’ to meet a ‘beautiful’ woman associated with Jeffrey Epstein.

Fresh details have emerged about a mystery Russian woman Andrew Mountbatten Windsor was ‘delighted’ to meet.

The three million pages of material published last week by the US Justice Department include email exchanges from August 2010, in which Epstein appears to be setting up social schemes involving the then Duke of York and a 26-year-old woman described as ‘beautiful’.

The exchange centred on an email from Epstein in which he tells an account labelled “The Duke” — believed to be referring to Andrew — that he “has a friend with whom I think you might enjoy dinner. ” Epstein’s description of the woman states that she is “26 years old, Russian, smart, beautiful, trustworthy, and yes, she has your email.”

In response, the former prince replied, “Of course. I am in Geneva until the morning of the 22nd but would be glad to see her. Will she bring you any messages? Please give her my contact details to get in touch.”

He signed the message with “A.” Later in the exchange, Epstein confirmed a date – the evening of August 22, 2010. An email from the woman, dated August 8, 2010, read: “Hi Jeffrey!!! How are you? Jeffrey, I would like your advice. If I go to London (on my way back from Russia) sometime between August 27 and September 5, do you think there will be anyone there, and what are the best dates?”

After replying that he would “check”, Epstein tells the woman that the dates of August 22–24 were the best, with the woman replying that she was “excited” after booking the tickets.

When asked on August 22, the day of the alleged meeting with the former prince, if she was “having fun”, the woman replied, “I had a wonderful night, thank you!”

Three days later, he messaged again: “Hi Jeffrey! How are you? I tried to reach [redacted] but couldn’t; I will find some way to do so. I am now going to Russia, where you too will have to come soon! Thanks again for everything. My journey has truly been a special adventure.”

Emails were leaked as part of new Epstein files drop (Image: DOJ)

The date was set just months after Epstein was released from prison after serving a 13-month sentence for soliciting minors for prostitution. In other emails, Andrew asked Epstein if it was “good to be free?” And Epstein responded by saying that “it’s great to be free from a lot of things.” The occurrence, location, and details of the dinner or meeting remain unconfirmed.

In addition to the emails about the Russian woman, the newly released files also include images showing Andrew in social settings with other unidentified women. In one image, Andrew is seen standing on all fours over a woman who is lying on the floor.

British police have said they are reviewing new information linked to the Epstein files, including claims by a woman’s legal representative that she was flown to the UK and spent the night with Andrew in 2010 before being given a tour of Buckingham Palace and tea. We have contacted the Palace for comment, as Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

The former prince left the Royal Lodge on Monday night and is currently living at Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate while his permanent home undergoes renovations. It was understood the move would take place in early 2026, but the latest debacle of the Jeffrey Epstein files has accelerated his departure.

Sources close to the royal family also say that although Andrew’s poor judgement required sanctioning, he will remain a member of the family and have a duty of care on a personal level, hence the provision of a home in Norfolk, funded by the king.

Lindsey Vonn is out of the downhill race at the Milano Cortina Games due to a torn ACL.

1

American skier Lindsey Vonn crashed seconds into her downhill Olympic race on Sunday after deciding to compete, even though she had torn her left ACL in a crash during a World Cup event in the Swiss Alps a week earlier.

A 41-year-old American who came out of retirement to compete in the 2026 Winter Olympics previously confirmed that her ACL was completely torn but said she was confident she could still finish the race with the help of a knee brace.

Seconds into the race, Vonn lost control when she clipped the flag at the edge of the course, flying sideways into the air and hitting her head on the ground. She was responsive but did not wake up. Medical personnel placed him on a stretcher and airlifted him from the course.

Alpine Skiing – Women's Downhill

Team USA’s Lindsey Vonn crashed onto the big screen during the women’s downhill at the Milan Cortina Winter Games.

In a statement, Team USA stated that Vonn’s “right ski pole broke a gate, causing her to lose her balance and spin out of control.”

After the crash, Vonn can be heard screaming that she can’t take off her skis.

Her father, Alan Kildow, was present in the stands, staring at the ground as his daughter received treatment. Others in the crowd, including Snoop Dogg, watched silently as the star skier was finally removed from the course that held so many of his memories.

Thomas Pronske of Austin, Texas, who was watching the event from the sidelines, told CBS News after the crash, “I hope she’s OK. It didn’t look good. We watched her go down pretty hard, and I’m praying and wishing the best for her. She was the biggest reason I came here. Her comeback story of overcoming adversity is just remarkable… I tore my ACL myself; I know it’s a painful injury… and again, I hope he’s okay.”

Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics - Day 2

Fans react after watching USA’s Lindsey Vonn crash during the women’s alpine downhill skiing at the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

Thomas’ mother, Maria Pronske, told CBS News that she felt very bad for him with his knee, explaining that she was so inspired by Vonn that she came to watch the show on her birthday with an injured knee. poor thing. I’m so sorry for him. I pray for him, too.”

Krista Kosher, cousin of Jacqueline Wills, another Team USA skier who finished fourth in Sunday’s race, said it was “absolutely devastating to see her teammate being carried off the hill.”

Kosher said, “Lindsay and Jacqueline have been running together for years, and they definitely have a mentor-teacher relationship, and watching your friend lose is really challenging for everyone, but we wish Lindsay and her all the best in her recovery.”

Alpine Skiing – Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics: Day 2

A mountain rescue helicopter is seen saving Team USA’s Lindsey Vonn after she crashed during the women’s downhill at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics at the Toffen Alpine Skiing Center in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, on February 08, 2026.

Charles Christianson, a retired former ski racer from Park City, Utah, says the accident was “absolutely heartbreaking.”

Christianson said, “Everyone is here to cheer on the entire U.S. team and especially to celebrate Lindsay’s incredible career. It’s absolutely heartbreaking, but the truth is, Lindsay couldn’t have had it any other way.” “She knew the risks. Ski racers always accept that, and you saw her determination when she got out of the gate. She was charging. She never doubted what her goal was; it was either to reach the podium or not succeed at all, and this mindset applies to all competitors. So again, the respect of the crowd and everybody here shows how important she is to the sport. We’ll have to see what happens. We wish her the best of luck. However, we wish her all the best.

A Team USA supporter watches after American Lindsey Vonn crashes and is evacuated by helicopter in the women’s downhill event during the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

Before Sunday’s race, a Team USA official said that Vonn having a serious crash during the race was their biggest fear. With all the attention on him and his inspirational story, the image of him being taken out of the way during a race was his worst.

Before her retirement in 2019, Vonn had competed with a torn lateral collateral ligament, three tibia fractures and a bone bruise, and still won a bronze medal. He now has a titanium knee, although it is not the joint that is currently injured.

“Getting to these Olympics has been a journey, and some people didn’t believe in it from the beginning,” Vonn said in a social media post late Saturday. “I was retired for 6 years, and because of a partial knee replacement, I got the chance to compete once more. But why? It seems like everyone is asking me that question. But I think the answer is simple… I just love ski racing.

She said, “I’m not unsure about life outside of sports. I’m not looking for meaning or attention or money. “I know who I am and I also know what I’m made of.”

Vonn had set the third-fastest time in a training race on the Saturday before the race—behind her teammate Breezy Johnson. However, the race was stopped due to inclement weather before all racers could take part.

“I think it’s a good race,” said Vonn’s coach, Axel Lund Svindal. “The race is scheduled for tomorrow, and since it is the Olympics, the girls will be pushing themselves harder.” So probably everyone will be faster, which means Lindsay will have to run faster too. But it’s a solid race, and I think she has another gear.”

Johnson overtook Vaughn and finished the race in over 1:36.

Nigel Farage attacks Keir Starmer after stepping down as Chief of Staff. Politics news

1

Nigel Farage has predicted that Sir Keir Starmer will “not be far behind” after leaving his chief of staff post. Morgan McSweeney resigned as Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister after coming under intense pressure over the Lord Peter Mandelson affair.

Responding in a post on X, the Reform leader said, “As predicted, McSweeney is gone. Labour is only continuing the chaos we saw under the Tories. My money says Starmer will not be far behind after Labour’s disaster in the coming May elections.”

In his exit statement, Mr McSweeney said the decision to appoint Lord Mandelson as US ambassador was “wrong” and he took “full responsibility” for advising Sir Keir on how to proceed.

The colleague was sacked last year over her ties to notorious paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

But a fresh investigation has started after new documents surfaced that when he was a minister in the government, he had leaked information to the infamous financier.

Mr McSweeney said, “After careful thought, I have decided to resign from the government. The decision to appoint Peter Mandelson was wrong. He has damaged confidence in our party, our country, and politics.”

“When asked, I advised the Prime Minister to make that appointment and I take full responsibility for that advice. Responsibility in public life must be taken when it matters most, not just when it is most convenient. In these circumstances, the only honourable course is to step aside.”

“This is not an effortless decision. Much has been written and said about me over the years, but my motivation has always been simple: I have worked every day to elect and support a government that puts ordinary people’s lives first and leads us to a better future for our great country. Only a Labour government will do that.

“I am proud of what I have accomplished and regretful about the circumstances of my departure. But I have always believed that there come moments when you must accept responsibility and step aside for a greater cause.”

Sir Keir expressed.

Sir Keir expressed a “debt of gratitude” to Mr. McSweeney and credited his “dedication, loyalty, and leadership” with Labour’s 2024 general election victory.

The Prime Minister said, “It has been an honour to work with Morgan McSweeney for many years. She turned our party around after its worst-ever defeat and played a central role in running our election campaign. “It is largely thanks to her dedication, loyalty, and leadership that we won a landslide majority and have the chance to transform the country.”

“Having worked closely with Morgan in opposition and government, I have seen his commitment to the Labour Party and our country every day. Our party and I are indebted to him, and I thank him for his service.”

Was Tony Hawk’s wedding to Jeffrey Epstein on the island? The answer to the skateboarding legend’s world News

Was Tony Hawk's wedding to Jeffrey Epstein on the island? Skateboarding legend answers
FILE – Tony Hawk attends the X-Games at the Ventura County Fairgrounds in Ventura, California, on Sunday, July 23, 2023. (Photo by Richard Shotwell/Invision/AP, File)

Tony Hawk has issued a detailed public denial following online speculation that one of his weddings took place on a private Caribbean island owned by Jeffrey Epstein following the release of a new tranche of US Justice Department documents. The 57-year-old skateboarding icon addressed the claims directly on Instagram after social media users seized on a third-party tip contained in the files and attempted to connect it to his personal life. Hawke said the allegation was “nonsense”, gave a verified timeline of his four marriages, and emphasised that he had never met Epstein or visited his island.

The details of how the claim emerged and the content of the documents are unclear.

This confusion stems from an FBI tip referenced in the recently released Epstein-related files. The document summarises a call to the FBI’s tip line, which was logged by a threat intake examiner at the National Threat Operations Center, involving an unnamed woman alleging that she was exploited as a minor and trafficked to multiple locations, including Little St James. Reiterating her allegations, the caller claimed she was on the island “when Prince Edward was there and when Tony Hawk got married on the island”. The document does not offer confirmation of that claim and makes it clear that it refers to the caller’s account. The presence of names in the files does not indicate wrongdoing, and many of the entries are unverified tips or statements from third parties. Hawke’s name appears three times in the document release. Two of those references are not related to travel or personal relationships but rather to email discussions about 2010s video games. Tony Hawk: Shredder. The remaining reference is the unverified allegation above, which Hawke says is patently false.

Hawke’s reaction: timeline, location and source of the mixture

Hawke responded via an Instagram Story before listing the locations of each of his weddings, writing, “I apologise if they don’t fit into the bullshit story.”

  • 1990: Fallbrook, California (at home)
  • 1996: San Diego, California (Hilton Hotel)
  • 2006: Fiji (Tavarua Surf Island)
  • 2015: Ireland (Adare Manor)

None of these locations overlap with Epstein’s former property in the US Virgin Islands. He said the speculation possibly arose from his third marriage in 2006, which took place on Fiji’s Tavarua Island. Photographs from that ceremony were later licensed to Getty Images, and the credited photographer on those photographs is Mark Epstein.

tony hawk weddingHawke revealed that his 2006 wedding to Lhotse Mariam took place in Fiji, not on Epstein Island (Mark Epstein/Getty Images)

Hawk addressed that point explicitly: “One of the guests in 2006 took photographs of the Fiji ceremony and licensed them to Getty Images. His name (incidentally) is Mark Epstein.” He added that the photographer is “an accomplished action sports photographer from Wyoming” who is “not related in any way” to Jeffrey Epstein.

Tony HawkPhoto Credit: @tonyhawk/Instagram

For context, Jeffrey Epstein’s brother, Mark Epstein, is a New York-based property developer; the confusion appears to have been caused by a shared surname. “This is all easily verifiable information,” Hawke wrote. “Facts are not changeable.” He apologised to the photographer for getting “caught up in a whirlpool of misinformation. “Hawke, a father of four and a household name beyond skateboarding, concluded by reiterating that he never visited Epstein Island and had no personal relationship with the late financier, underscoring that the claim circulating online collapses under basic fact-checking.

The mother of the missing TV anchor was found in a “vehicle of interest.”

1

Police investigating the disappearance of an American TV host’s mother are looking for a vehicle or vehicles linked to her case.

Nancy Guthrie, whose daughter is NBC’s Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie, is suspected of being kidnapped.

The 84-year-old woman was last seen at her home near Tucson, Arizona On the evening of Saturday, January 31, a local TV station received two messages that appeared to be related to the case.

One demanded money in exchange for his return and information about his Apple Watch and a floodlight on his property.

On Friday, a spokesperson for convenience store chain Circle K told Sky News’ US partner NBC News that officers “visited one of their stores after receiving a tip regarding a vehicle of interest, and our team has provided them with access to the store’s surveillance video.”

Authorities have not said whether the vehicle or vehicles are connected to any part of the disappearance.

This came after the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department said they were aware of “a new message regarding Nancy Guthrie”.

It is unclear what the message was or whether it was linked to the previously reported notes.

Three officials briefed on the meeting told NBC News that the message was sent to Tucson TV station KOLD.

The FBI is working to confirm whether it came from the same sender as the previously reported ransom note, sources said.

He emphasised that the FBI has not yet verified that the first note came from someone who may have taken Ms Guthrie from her home.

NBC host Savannah Guthrie made an emotional appeal to her mother’s kidnapper.

Ms Guthrie’s children have released two videos appealing to her apparent kidnappers.

On Wednesday, Savannah Guthrie posted a video in which she tearfully pleaded for her mother’s safe return and appealed to the alleged kidnappers to open a line of communication with the family.

On Thursday evening, her son Cameron Guthrie said in a video posted to his sister’s Instagram account: “Whoever is holding our mother, We want to hear from you.”

US President Donald Trump, speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One late Friday, he said the investigation into Ms Guthrie’s disappearance was going “very well”.

“We have some leads that I think are very strong,” he said. “We have some things that may come out soon.”

Pam Bondi reacts to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi told reporters earlier Friday that federal officials were assisting Arizona authorities, but she declined to provide details.

“This breaks my heart for Savannah and her family,” he said.

Meanwhile, the sheriff investigating Ms Guthrie’s disappearance said there is growing concern about her condition, as authorities say she needs daily medication.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said, “I think his condition is getting worse every day.

“He needs medication, and I have no way of knowing whether they’re giving him that medication or not.”

According to sheriff’s dispatcher audio on Broadcastify.com, Ms Guthrie was said to have a pacemaker and was suffering from high blood pressure and heart problems.

NatWest is set to acquire the wealth management group Evelyn Partners for £2.5 billion, according to money news.

1

NatWest Group is to undertake a £2.5bn acquisition of wealth management group Evelyn Partners in what would be its biggest corporate acquisition since the taxpayer bailout in 2008.

Sky News has learnt that NatWest,

which returned to full private ownership last year, is in advanced talks to acquire Evelyn from its private equity backers this weekend.

Barclays, a rival bidder, is believed to have challenged NatWest in recent days after submitting a fresh round of offers last week.

City sources said NatWest was expected to pay between £2.5 billion and £3 billion to buy Evelyn, which provides a wide range of wealth management services to thousands of clients.

An announcement confirming the deal could come as early as next week.

Buying Evelyn, formerly known as Tilney Smith & Williamson, will strengthen NatWest’s presence in one of the areas identified by its chief executive, Paul Thwaite, as a priority for the bank.

NatWest, which is expected to report strong full-year results next weekend, has begun a simplification drive when Mr Thwaite takes over in 2023.

Analysts said buying Evelyn would represent a logical strategic move for NatWest’s Coutts arm as well as its affluent customer base.

Although it is a big deal, the price of less than £3bn is modest in the context of NatWest’s market capitalisation of around £52bn.

Its shares have increased by nearly 50% over the past year.

Britain has issued more than 80 flood warnings due to the expected increase in rain.

Barclays wanted to buy Evelyn too, but it backed out after learning NatWest’s offer.

Royal Bank of Canada had been linked to a bid, although it was not clear whether it had formally submitted an offer this week.

Evelyn had around £65 billion of assets under management last August, when it reported half-year results, making it a significant player in the sector in the UK.

The Evelyn auction comes amid a flurry of corporate activity in the wealth management sector.

Demographics and the drive to push Britons into long-term saving, investing and financial planning have driven growth in large parts of the industry in recent years – a trend that is expected to continue.

The wealth arm of Canaccord Genuity is also up for auction, with a potential valuation exceeding £1bn.

The acquisition of Evelyn will also see Evelyn’s chief executive, Paul Geddes, return to NatWest if he remains with the business.

Mr Geddes joined the then Royal Bank of Scotland before the financial crisis, running its insurance arm, which included brands such as Direct Line and Churchill.

He oversaw its spinoff from the high street lender, which was then majority government-owned.

Evelyn is owned by private equity firms Permira and Warburg Pincus, which merged their respective firms, Tilney and Smith & Williamson, in 2020.

Evelyn sold its professional services arm to the buyout firm Apax Partners last year.

The auction of the wealth management business is being conducted by Evercore’s bankers.

NatWest and Barclays both declined to comment, while Permira has been contacted for comment.

Preview: Chelsea travels to Wolves with the aim of moving back into the top four of the Premier League.

Chelsea travel to Wolves looking to move back into the Premier League’s top four.

The Blues, a point behind 5th-placed Manchester United, crashed out of the Carabao Cup in midweek after a 4-2 aggregate loss to Arsenal.

The visitors remain at the bottom of the table, having picked up just eight points so far this term, cutting them to 18 points in the relegation zone and leaving them dry.

However, the start of 2026 saw a small revival for Wanderers as they picked up five points from their first three league games of the new year.

Their number in the new year is more than the previous 25 outings.

Both sides have changed managers, with Chelsea swapping Enzo Maresca for Liam Rosenior earlier in the year and Wolves replacing Vitor Pereira with former Luton Town boss Rob Edwards in November.

When the two sides met in league action earlier in the campaign, Chelsea came out on top three goals to nil at Stamford Bridge courtesy of second-half goals from Malo Gusto, Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto.

But since the black and gold team returned to the Premier League in 2018, they have done better than Chelsea five times.

Things could go from bad to worse for Wolves this season, as they sold first-team striker Jorgen Strand Larsen to Crystal Palace on deadline day.

The Norwegian netted six times in all competitions this term, including an FA Cup hat-trick against Shrewsbury Town.

In the blue corner, though, summer signing Joao Pedro has been in fine form, finding the net five times and assisting once in his last six appearances for Chelsea.

The Brazilian played a key role in his side’s dramatic comeback last weekend, scoring Chelsea’s first goal and assisting South American Enzo Fernandez’s stoppage-time winner.

The centre-forward was also heavily involved in the melee at the end of the game, with West Ham United defender Jean-Clair Todibo showing red for violent conduct after grabbing Pedro by the throat.

Chelsea talisman Cole Palmer has struggled with injuries this season, playing 13 of his side’s Premier League games so far.

Speaking about the England international, head coach Liam Rosenior said, ‘He’s been bought and has been great.’ He wants to play every minute of every game.

“We know the player and the character that he is, but he’s also mature, and he understands the big picture, which is his career.”

The Blues boss believes Palmer will be able to feature for the full 90 minutes this weekend if needed.

Rosenior also confirmed that winger Jamie Gittens will miss Saturday’s match, as he has torn a hamstring and will be out for “a little bit longer”.

The match will take place on Saturday, 7 February, at the Molineux Stadium, with kick-off at 3pm UK time.

Congrats to Granit Xhaka on his success in Germany, Sunderland, and Arsenal.

1

Kelly Somers: What has been the toughest turning point in your career?

Granite Zaka: I have two difficult moments. The first was when I moved to Germany for the first time, away from my family, at about 19 years old. The move was very difficult for me. Everyone knows how close I am to my family, and it was hard being away from them. I didn’t get the minutes I wanted [on the pitch] And I wanted to go six months later in January, but my father was behind me. He said: ‘If you walk away now, you’ll always walk away, so get your head down and just work.’ I did, and everything changed.

The second part is not a big mystery. This incident occurred in 2019 when I had a misunderstanding with Arsenal fans. I call it a misunderstanding… with Arsenal fans. Two moments where I feel I have become stronger and better because it is part of a process. This is all part of writing history. On one hand, it’s unfortunate that this happened. On one hand, I was lucky to find it.

Kelly: Now you’re back in the Premier League, have you had the opportunity to reflect on your entire tenure at Arsenal? You experienced both incredible highs and very difficult moments during your tenure at Arsenal.

Granite: Generally, I believe people focus on my time in 2019

But I came in 2016, so to be part of a football club for seven years makes me proud… It is not straightforward to stay at this level for seven years. And yes, when I left Arsenal, it was a difficult decision for me and my family because we were happy there. However, while I was considering other options, I received another offer that was more immediate. To be honest, I didn’t expect to return to the Premier League after two years. This plan was not for me or our family.

Kelly: So you never wanted to come back?

Granite: I wanted it, but it wasn’t planned. When I left Arsenal, I signed a five-year contract at Leverkusen. So everything was planned based on what would happen after five years. But I always say in football, you never know where you will be tomorrow.

Kelly: Then why did you come back?

Granite: Even the people closest to me were saying, ‘Why are you going back to the Premier League to join Sunderland? ‘ That’s why I came back. I love a challenge, and I was feeling like I needed a new one. After two years in Germany, where in the first year we won almost everything… we went unbeaten in the Bundesliga, won the cup, and lost the Europa League final, which was very painful. When I talked to them, I felt that the owner, the club, and the coach made it clear this was the right club for me because the people are very polite. The place is a small town where I grew up. I just wanted to come back to reality, which is the right direction for me and my family. I’m just pleased that right now everything is going the way I wanted it to.

Kelly: You must have hoped it would be good; otherwise, you wouldn’t have come here. But has it exceeded your expectations?

Granite: The first thing I said to the club was, ‘I’m not coming here to play in the Premier League for a year and lose, because I’m leaving a Champions League club. I am coming here to take this project forward.

Kelly: I find it fascinating, because you may have had other offers to come back to the Premier League…

Granite: To be honest, it was a busy summer! I am 33 years old. I spoke to my brother, and I said, ‘I’ve never had so many offers before! It was very busy during the summer because various people came every day. But I decided for myself – after a 20-minute call with the owner – I wanted to go to Sunderland. I was very confident.

Britons evacuated from Spanish beauty spot as mountains ‘shudder’ amid fear of dam collapse

Dozens of Britons were among 200 people evacuated from a beauty spot between Málaga and Gibraltar in Spain after a ‘strong earthquake’ sent people fleeing into the street.

The Briton was among hundreds of people urgently evacuated from a Spanish holiday hotspot amid fears a dam in the mountains could burst.

200 people were immediately evacuated from the Estación de Benojan neighbourhood, between Málaga and Gibraltar. Emergency services ordered a complete evacuation of the town nestled among the mountains at around 4 pm on Friday.

Terrified residents reported the ground was “shaking” as water gushed from limestone caves beneath their homes. This fateful mission was initiated because of fears over the Montjac Dam in the mountains above the city, which has been dormant and dry for almost a century.

The dam was built in the 1920s but later broke because it could not hold water and leaked into caves beneath the city – the structure was built on porous rock. This old and neglected dam has become an issue again this week after heavy rains from Hurricane Leonardo left the surrounding area drenched.

This indicates that the rainwater and the dam filled the underground caves for the first time, which was significant for the olive press. According to this, a “strong earthquake” occurred around 7 pm on Friday, causing people to come out on the streets in fear. sure in English.

Dozens of Britons were evacuated, along with other tourists and locals, as a hotel popular with UK visitors – the Molino del Santo – is located just a few meters from the river. Francisco Parra, a local, said, “Civil protection officials came and told us we had to leave our houses because the hill was giving way.”

The mayor of Benauzon said the emergency mission was due “to the weather conditions and the danger of the Montjac dam overflowing.”. Emergency services later went door-to-door in the area and rescued people before about 200 locals and visitors were evacuated to the village high in the mountains.

Reports suggest that geologists may have caused the terrifying “shocks” by forcing air and liquid through underwater caves.

Despite this, government representative Javier Salas, who travelled to the affected area, said there was no imminent danger and the area would not suffer flooding.

Hurricane Leonardo caused flooding and freezing cold across the region, leading to the evacuation of millions of people in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco.

Portugal’s government declared a state of emergency and referred to the extreme weather as a “catastrophic crisis”. The worst is yet to come, as Typhoon Marta is set to make landfall on Saturday and bring more misery to the region.
