The defending Super Bowl champions, the Chicago Bears, lost 24-15 to the NFL’s Black Friday game at Lincoln Financial Field as the Philadelphia Eagles were booed by their own fans in the NFL’s Black Friday game at Lincoln Financial Field.
The home crowd began to flood in with six minutes remaining when Caleb Williams hit Cole’s Matt for a 28-yard touchdown to give Chicago a 24-9 advantage.
More intense scrutiny awaits offensive coordinator Kevin Pattulo and his sprawling offence, which failed to punish a Williams interception during a tush-push attempt in a decisive second-half exchange.
The Bears outgained the Eagles 425 yards to 317, while running 85 plays to the hosts’ 51, recording 14 of 28 first downs, rushing for 281 yards to 87 and holding 39:18 to 20:42.
Ben Johnson leaned heavily on a formidable ground attack led by Kyle Monongai, who had 22 carries for 130 yards and a touchdown, with DeAndre Swift rushing for 125 yards and a first-quarter score on 18 carries.
It marked Chicago’s ninth win atop the NFC North to improve to 9-3 in its last 10 outings, while the Eagles slipped to 8-4 after their second straight loss after blowing a 21-point lead against the Dallas Cowboys last weekend.

A long-time raucous Eagles crowd wasted little time in voicing their displeasure, as boos were often heard during the first scrimmage.
Through two drives, Chicago had gained 222 yards to Philadelphia’s 83, two to 16 first downs, 26 to 142, nine to 21 with 21 minutes to go, 47 plays to the Eagles’ 17 and, crucially, three to 10 points that could have gone wrong for 30-3.
The Eagles’ offensive stutters started again after halftime when Horatz was intercepted by a diving Kevin Byrd, who flew a safety down the path of AJ Brown for his league-leading sixth pick of the season.
Vic Fangio’s defence will see the champs tease their ability to turn any game around in a flash as Brown teases his ability to haul in a 33-yard touchdown catch after a 23-yard scramble. Jake Elliott, though, missed the ensuing extra point to leave the hosts behind 10-9.
The momentum threatened to swing moments later as Williams was intercepted by Jelex Hunt while trying to set up a screen play that Chicago had been trying to orchestrate earlier in the game. Hunt was not to be fooled on this occasion, leaping to bring down the undercooked pass.
After the Eagles’ attempted tush push was again frustrated, resulting in a forced turnover, Nahshon Wright ripped the ball out of Hortus’ hands and powered his way onto the rebound. It was Wright’s fifth straight game with five interceptions, three fumble recoveries and a forced fumble this season.
Johnson turned to the strength of his sophomore rushing game to capitalise in style, as Monongai ran for a four-yard touchdown to take a 17-9 lead at the end of a 12-play, 87-yard drive that included a fourth-and-five conversion from Colston Loveland.
The Bears piled on the misery with six minutes remaining when Williams’ 28-yard touchdown strike MET prompted Eagles fans to begin leaving the field in an ugly scene of champions.
The early exits had a momentary fear of overturning their go-ahead decision when he reeled in Hortus’ dart for a four-yard touchdown, but the Eagles couldn’t convert the two-point attempt to leave it as a two-score game.
Swift gave the Bears a deserved first-quarter lead when he punched in a three-yard touchdown at the end of an 11-play, 78-yard drive in which he and teammates combined to drive Monongai 59 yards on the ground.
Elliott cut the deficit to 7-3 with a 44-yard field goal after Hortus lost an open Devonta Smith on third-and-8, before Cairo Santos restored Chicago’s seven-point advantage with a 30-yard field goal.
The Eagles are on the road against the Chargers in Week 14, while the Bears head to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers.
