F1 legend Lewis Hamilton, 40, reveals plans for a major overhaul of the team after a horror debut season at Ferrari.

LEWIS HAMILTON has opened up on his plans to shake up his team after a nightmare season in Formula One.

Since switching to Ferrari ahead of the 2025 season, the legendary British driver has faced significant challenges.

But he is yet to secure a podium heading into the last race of the season on Sunday, which could spell the first time he has ever failed to podium in an F1 campaign.

The 40-year-old finished 12th at the Qatar Grand Prix last weekend and has exited qualifying in the first round at both the last races.

But Hamilton has opened up on his approach to setting himself up for a better campaign next year, telling Sky Sports, “It’s not actually a straightforward process.

“We are obviously testing next week and then we go back to the factory and I’ve got to decide what my approach is when it comes to sitting down with key stakeholders to make the decisions and how that approach is to create the change that’s needed.

“In terms of personal reflection, every weekend I have written down what I felt went wrong that weekend, the decisions I’ve taken. So there’s a lot of learning to do there.

“During my break I will analyse those decisions and make markers on how I can make better decisions in the future.”

Part of that process, Hamilton said, comes down to changing things up in his personal team.

He continued: “My surroundings in terms of my personal personnel and team personnel – how do you utilise people, and whether people need to move into different positions to work better?

“All these different things need to be looked upon in my personal space so that we can optimise our teamwork.”

Hamilton sits sixth in the Drivers’ standings ahead of Sunday’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, almost 80 points behind teammate Charles Leclerc.
